Located within a conservation area in a Yorkshire market town this property won the design award from the local council in the year of its build. Using traditional local building materials but inspired by the alpine like setting the contemporary external design was achieved with full support of the local Conservation Officer.
A feature of the design is the extensive use of standard building materials which help to keep construction costs low but still allow the huge expanses of glazing. Also wherever possible the external materials are designed to be maintenance free, utilising powder coated aluminium windows, uPVC cladding and stainless steel fixings.
Internally the emphasis is on open plan living and contemporary styling. The property includes many features including the floating staircase and double height ceilings. With an emphasis on the home owner nearly 50% of the first floor is taken by the master bedroom suite. Nearly 650 sq ft of space forms the master bedroom, dressing room, ensuite and private balcony.
