The Georgian Rectory is approximately 200 years old and is a Grade II listed building. The property had been subjected to several “modernisations” and “refurbishments” over the years and as a result very few of the original internal features still existed. Ashwood were commissioned by private clients to carry out the conceptual and detailed designs with the intention of restoring the property to its original splendour.
Once the designs were agreed Ashwood carried out a full refurbishment of the main building and construction of a 2300 sq ft extension. Externally works included new sliding sash windows throughout, the reinstatement of the front door to the original position, new roof coverings and carefully matching the extension front elevation using reclaimed stone. Internally a new kitchen, new joinery, new bathrooms and new flooring were fitted along with careful refurbishment of the existing staircases, plasterwork and cellars.
